Destination

Bogotá, Colombia's capital and largest city, has many facets waiting to be discovered. It is a diverse and cultural city that combines the ancient and the modern. Here, all the cultures of all the regions have a place, from the gastronomy of the coffee-growing region to the joy of the Caribbean region, from the artisan legacy of Boyacá to the fiesta of Valle del Cauca. The capital is the union of all the best of Colombia and is therefore a place you must visit. Here are some of the must-see places to visit.

The Candelaria

The historical and cultural centre of Bogotá is located in La Candelaria, just 10 km south of the Hotel Bogotá 100 Design.

This area stands out for the beauty of its colonial buildings, which preserve typical elements such as latticed windows and red tiles. The area is also home to many government and institutional buildings, as well as interesting museums and religious buildings.
One of the must-sees in this area is the Plaza de Bolívar, surrounded by buildings of great interest such as the Palacio Liévano, the National Capitol, the Colonial Museum, the Palacio de San Carlos, the Catedral Primada de Colombia and the Capilla del Sagrario.
It is also worth visiting the Casa de Nariño, the current seat of the Congress of the Republic.
Among the museums are the Gold Museum, the Botero Museum, the Bogota Museum, the Colombian Military Museum, the Mint Museum and the Francisco José de Caldas House Museum.

Eastern Hills

The eastern hills are one of Bogotá's main tourist attractions and a great option for nature lovers and hikers. Moreover, from the top of the hills you get a privileged view of the city.
There are numerous hills in the city, including Chicó, Alto La Laguna, Pan de Azúcar, Guadalupe, Monserrate, Pico del Águila and El Cable. The best known is the hill of Monserrate, one of the symbols of the city and a place of pilgrimage, since the Basilica of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate is located on its summit. It can be reached either by funicular or on foot along a 2.5 km route with several viewpoints.
Among the routes that can be done on foot, we also recommend the La Vieja ravine, just 5 km from the Hotel Bogotá 100 Design. Here there is a series of well-lit pedestrian paths with rest areas where you can spot different types of birds.
